Waiting for a double transplant

As a small boy, Matthew Luke from Czechia was diagnosed with diabetes. Although he has been on dialysis for a couple of years now, he never wanted his kidneys to determine his active life. He has various hobbies and many interests that keep him occupied. Yet, his doctors have prepared him for a double transplant due to the dual diagnosis of diabetes and chronic kidney disease. While he is waiting for a kidney and pancreas transplant, he is making plans for the time after the operation. His wife Marcela supports him and both are full of hope for the time when his health will be restored, as they are sure it will. They are even planning to start a family.
